Description

Our natural rosemary hydrolate for foods is extracted from the species Rosmarinus officinalis. The liquid is offered under the name Rosemary natural hydrolate for food. The scent owes its purity to steam distillation, which leaves in the water only the light volatile constituents of the entire aerial mass of the plant. The plant belongs to the Lamiaceae family, whose members hold their aromatic substances in the stalk and its leaves rather than in the root. The aerial part is used for extraction, and the peltate glandular trichomes retain the volatile fraction in an extensive secretory cavity. The strong aroma brings a slight spiciness and ends with a bitter nuance. The coloring remains between colorless and barely perceptible pink throughout the entire liquid. In Bulgaria, the plantations receive natural care and remain free of chemical agents throughout cultivation. Natural cultivation maintains the balance between the volatile constituents and lets no traces of synthetic agents into the raw material used to extract the distillate. In addition, the distillate accepts neither preservatives nor colorants. Cineole, pinene and camphor lead among the described constituents, which is why the spicy side of the scent comes forward at the beginning of the perception. The clarity of the liquid remains uniform throughout its mass. The spicy line comes first, while the bitter one appears later and closes the perception. The absence of additives makes the aerial stalk the sole carrier of the olfactory character of this aqueous distillate. Camphene and borneol complete the picture and accompany the other volatile compounds of the raw material. The stalk origin of the rosemary remains perceptible in the lasting part of the perception.
